The number one thing holding you back from being able to experience an Astral Projection is Fear. Your bodies natural defense mechanisms are keeping you from experiencing other dimensional realms.
As a part of your energy consciousness begins to separate from the physical body your brain sends out an alert that will immediately end your consciousness shifting and astral projection.
You must learn to control your fear through meditation and thought reflection. Once you have been properly trained you will no longer fear death because you have already seen the truth of your multi dimensional consciousness. It's not as hard as you may think it is.
The Astral Plane, sometimes referred to as "The Afterlife", "The Beyond" and even "The Fourth Dimension" is commonly known as the place we will transition to after we pass from this physical plane.
The astral plane really isn't the fourth dimension when you take into consideration that the physical plane makes up the first three dimensions, which includes length, width and height. Time is considered to be the fourth dimension. So we will consider the astral plane as being the "Fifth Dimension" in an otherwise multi-dimensional universe.
The lower Astral Planes are considered to be, for lack of a better word the "hells" and are inhabited by people who led a relatively dark, evil existence while in the physical world. There is a generally accepted belief system in place that a person will migrate to the plane where "like attracts like".
The inhabitants of the lower plane will continue to act in accordance with their previous earthly behaviors. Murderers will continue to murder and rapists will continue to rape. Of course it's impossible to physically harm anyone here but the thought of spending eternity engaging in these ruthless acts of violence is hard to imagine.
It's also believed that eventually the inhabitants of this level can progress by learning their lessons and fully understanding the true and bitter pain they have caused and may return to the earthly plane to begin their progression back to the One Source.
The mid Astral Planes are mainly comprised of decent people who have completed their most recent life in the physical plane. In accordance with the principle of "like attracts like" this plane is believed to be clean, pure and peaceful.
Those that find themselves on the mid astral plane have progressed further along on the journey back to the One Source but still are very focused on the material things in the physical plane. They will find an environment that closely matches their experiences on the physical plane.
It seems to be a common theme that the planes you arrive at resembles the nature of your existence on the physical plane because it would be too much of a shock to enter the inner astral planes or true spiritual worlds if you have not adequately progressed spiritually.
The higher Astral Planes (Inner Astral Planes) are the planes where one has transcended the materialism of the physical planes. The setting here is idyllic, filled with all the splendor of a perfect harmonious day filled with love and joy. It has been described over the course of time as having a Heavenly type quality.
This is thought to be the last stop on our way to the true spirit worlds and becoming reunited with the One Source. After having experienced these inner astral planes the next time the soul departs the physical plane there will be no desire to return to the lower planes and will want to leave behind all the past desires of materialism.
Regardless of what ones beliefs are you can draw a parallel with the astral planes as a way of progression on our journey back to the One Source or if you prefer God.
The first step to perfecting any type of energy movements such as awakening your psychic abilities or traversing the astral planes is to learn how to silence your mind and relax your body. I have been practicing energy movements for many years and if you haven't been getting the results you are looking for than I recommend you try the following:
How many cultures of mankind have stories regarding some kind of astral travel? Whether, it is some kind of vision quest like the Native Americans, or some sort of trance like state utilized by the likes of Nostradamus or Rasputin.
Over the millennia we as a species have been exposed to the idea of traveling beyond where our physical body can take us. Over time this concept and the perception of its application has been interpreted and reinterpreted again and again throughout our civilization.
What about the many misconceptions regarding astral travel? Many people are exposed to the concept of our energy body leaving our physical body and traveling through out time and space. We often visualize or report seeing a silver chord connecting our energy body to our physical one.
Often time's people will report an experience where they were starting to leave their body only to have an uncontrollable feeling of fear well up inside of them usually ending with them being snapped back into their body.
The questions that arise are very interesting. First of all why is it that we perceive our energy body as looking like our own? If it was really our soul or energy body why would it have to resemble our physical body? Perhaps it is the best image our brains can relate to, therefore enabling us to interpret the situation.
The other question is why do people feel they will leave there body and not be able to find there way back? This is also associated with the concept that if their chord is disconnected from their body they will die because the body can't live without the soul.
Keeping these questions in mind we must realize that man has been experiencing astral travel for millennia. The reality is that mankind's intelligence an understanding of the world around him has changed dramatically again and again over the centuries. How we once would have interpreted a phenomenon like astral travel may not be the most intelligent way to interpret and dissect it today.
There are concepts today that didn't exist one hundred years ago much less thousands. Take a probe for example. A probe will fly into space take pictures of things thousands of miles away and relay the information back to us giving us data that we could never attain by physical means.
Instead of thinking of your soul as leaving your body, let's imagine that what is really traveling is something that is of the same frequency of your soul, and is acting more like a probe. It is traveling through time and space, collecting data and within an instant, faster than the speed of light it is relaying that information back to you.
If this is the case than there would be no need to imagine a chord attaching your probe to your physical body, neither would we need to have the fear of either being trapped out of our body or never finding our way back. With this new perception we can see how the fear of death is almost completely eliminated.
Another common fear is that if something happens to your astral body than you will be harmed in the physical one. Again when a probe is destroyed out in space it simply stops sending back data, it doesn't affect the planet it is being sent from.
Let us look now at energy. Let us assume for a moment that when our energy is used to create a probe, and then that energy is projected, we are in fact receiving data so fast and so vivid that it in feels as if we have literally left our body. When the connection is cut it simply ends the transmission.
Let's picture that our body's electrical field and aura, are holding our soul within our physical body, and that the soul cannot really leave the body unless the electrical field of our body stops working due to death.
With this in mind it is much more believable that it is not our soul in its entire form that leaves the body but merely a part of it, or more specifically a frequency of it. This energy is what creates the probe that can travel across time and space. So logically we can conclude that cutting the connection between the probe and ourselves does not harm us in any way but simply ends the data being transmitted.
The most important realization of this perspective is that most of the time when people are snapped back into there body during a projection, or suddenly fall short of a successful projection it is because of fear. Again, fear of not finding there way back to their body, fear of being harmed physically because of their soul being harmed, or fear that the body cannot live without the soul.
As the old saying says "Fear is the mind killer". With the concept that astral projection is simply an energy probe scanning the depths of time and space, and not our soul leaving our body, we can see how fear is what's really limiting ourselves from true Astral Travel.
Achieving Astral Projection overnight is as easy as going to bed. There are a few ingredients and three easy techniques you need to cook this up. Needless to mention, if you are an intermediate to expert level in the art of astral projection you might already know these ingredients. However, the hope of jotting this down is to provide a very simple recipe to allow anyone to achieve success literally overnight.
Automobiles need fuel to move, plants need water and sun to grow, even the human body needs energy, in this case food, to function efficiently. That being said, projecting astral projection also requires an exchange of energy, or fuel. The natural question is: What is this fuel and where does it come from? Firstly, for clarity's sake let's dichotomize this fuel into organic fuel and prana (life force).
The aforementioned fuel is plainly and simply just food. The body needs to be well nourished and healthy to be apt to allocate its precious resources to astral endeavors. If you are weak you won't be able to study, exercise, heal, or operate efficiently, it is no different when it comes to astral projection.
That being said, it is possible to overwork or put enough stress on the body to achieve astral projection but this is for obvious reasons counterproductive. A healthy diet works best.
Plenty of water and a supplement of B vitamins and magnetite will do wonders. Lemon juice is also an important and accessible part of this equation. It is very important to test, test, and test again. What diet works best for you? What feeding time works best for you?
Attempting to project too soon after dinner will reduce your chances of a projection because of the stress on your digestive system. Substances such as caffeine and alcohol will also act against you. Avoid them during your projections.
The other and more important kind of fuel is prana. This, in a nutshell is an unseen energy that is all around us and permeates everything. This is the energy that ties and binds our universe together. Think of prana as the "Force" from the film Star Wars. Much like organic fuel allows your physical body to operate, prana is what will fuel your "astral probe" and allow "projection".
Breathing is by far the easiest and most accessible way of obtaining prana. What's the trick? In order to absorb prana it must be wanted. Turn your lungs, and your body into a loving home for this prana, invite it in and it will come. There are more advance ways of absorbing prana. Specialized meditation techniques, I recommend a specialized chakra meditation that will yield more than enough prana for projections, amongst other benefits.
The biggest factor ruining aspiring astral projectors all over the planet is fear. And knowledge is the weapon of choice against this treacherous enemy. There are countless articles, books and tapes on the subject. Saturate yourself with the subject. Be logical and don't believe everything you read.
There is a great debt of gratitude due to all the trail blazers that have put astral projection in the map, but remember these are regular people trying to explain and talk about an unusual subject. Thus, be wary of misinterpretations.
One pearl of knowledge that must be shared and will strike down fear of astral projection is that: You are not out of your body. Yes, you never leave your body while you are projecting. Think about these letters that you are reading. You are experiencing with your sight.
These letters are outside your body, yet you are able to perceive and experience them while you remain inside inside your body. It is of great importance to grasp this. It will obliterate ignorant fears commonly associated with astral projection, such as, fear of death, fear of possessions and fear of getting lost outside of your body.
Who likes to hear this sentence? Not nearly as many as those that like to say it. But, as painful as it sounds, it holds true. Any skill worth having requires you to put in a decent amount of time and effort.
Now that your motivation is likely back to zilch allow me to digress to the original point of this article...yes, the overnight part. Hopefully, your motivation is now back to normal levels. The following are three simple and efficient techniques that will project your astral probe literally overnight.
These here are my 3 favorite techniques for easy astral projections.
After a long day of white water rafting I proceeded to lay down in my bed and rest. Interestingly, laying there in a relaxed state, I couldn't help but notice that the movement of the raft moving down the river had stayed with me. I went with it for a while and as soon as my brain was convinced of the reality of this movement it was tricked into achieving it. Before I knew it my astral probe was inches away from my bedroom wall as I lay in bed. After discovering this purely by accident I experimented with other variations of movement, such as, jogging, swimming and even driving a car with great success.
This is a very powerful technique, and for the purpose of astral projection you might want to think of it as visualization on steroids. Using this technique, is the only way I have been able to project while completely awake. In a nutshell, you will pick a room in your house; the bathroom seems to work best. Lie down and relax in your bedroom. Now as you lay there, relaxing and getting comfortable start to picture your bathroom in your mind's eye. If you are anything like me, your first attempts at visualization will be pathetic. Your job is to trick your brain into believing it is in the bathroom, the brain is no fool, and you need to imitate the sensory data the brain expects to receive to the best of your ability. Feel the colors, the brightness, and the texture of the surface. Look at the mirror, the corners of the room, the sink, you get the idea. It is all in the details.
This is my favorite one because it requires the least amount of work. This technique requires you to play around with your normal sleep schedule, so it is not recommended for work or school days. Simply set your alarm clock about three hours earlier than usual. Get up and do some type of task that will require some degree of focus. Read a book, preferably on astral projection, take a walk around your block. Taking a 15 minute drive usually does it for me. Then go back to your warm, comfortable and inviting bed. That is it. I can only speculate that these actions put your brain in a very special state of mind that makes it much more prone to achieve astral projection.
Everything in the universe requires an exchange of energy. Remember that, whether you are writing an article fueled by caffeine or sending an astral probe to the Mexican Riviera powered by prana.
Knowledge will set you and your astral probes free. Educate yourself on the subject; it is the only way to dispel ignorance and fear. Be consistent with your practice, anything worth gaining requires effort. And if all this sounds like too much work, at least give "the lazy technique" a try, you might be one of the few lucky natural astral projectors.
Using astral projection brainwave entrainment can make the difference in your attempts to experience astral travel. It is indeed possible to induce out of body experiences without resorting to any tools but the time and practice it requires to bring about astral projection at will can be rather daunting.
If you have tried to consciously induce out of body experiences before but have not succeeded, then using brainwave entrainment technology can give you that extra push you need. If you are able to astral project already you will find that it make the whole process much easier.
Let's take a look at what brainwave is. Then we will go through the steps necessary to induce astral projection with and without the it. Then you can decide for yourself if you are interested in trying them out.
The human brain goes through many frequency cycles every day and night. When we are awake and active, our brain produces beta waves (14-30 Hz). When we are dreaming, in deep meditation or experiencing astral projection, the brain is generating theta frequencies (4-7 Hz).
Our experiences will have the brain enter different frequency cycles but this process can also be reversed. Frequencies can shape our experiences. More to the point, through scientific research, it has been discovered that the brain's receiving and operating frequencies can be altered by sound waves.
What if we could have the brain come into contact with the same frequencies that it would be generating during astral projection ?
Many of the most powerful brain frequencies are under 20 Hz - including the 4-7 Hz theta waves occurring during out of body experiences. Since the ear itself does not respond to frequencies below 20 Hz, Brainwave Entrainment Technology came about which uses the inner wiring of the brain to produce the frequency with perfect accuracy. There are two types of brainwave entrainment, isochronic tones and binaural beats.
Binaural Beats work by broadcasting two separate frequencies in each ear. For example, if you wanted to tune your brain to a 7 Hz frequency, you could play 300 Hz in your right ear, and 307 Hz in your left ear. The brain will compensate for the difference between the two and produce a third tone that will be exactly 7 Hz. This will result in your brain frequency being lowered and tuned to the desired 7 Hz operating stage.
With binaural beats, the process of relaxing the mind and body and entering the desired altered state of consciousness required to perform astral projection becomes dramatically easier.
Isochronic tones are a simple tool that can help you achieve astral travelling consciously and easily. Put simply, they consist of sound waves used to stimulate the brain into generating the same frequencies that it would be producing during an out of body experience.
With the Isochronic tones the brain begins to create the desired frequencies (4-7 Hz), the process of altering the consciousness happens on its own. The listener need only be receptive and in a relaxed state. From there, projecting the consciousness out of the physical body becomes much easier.
The difference from binaural beats is that with isochronic tones you don't need any headphones. This can be both good and bad because the tones can get diluted if there is a lot of ambient sounds.
Now let's take a look, step by step, at how astral projection is induced.
First of all, I highly recommend anyone to astral project in the early morning hours.
The reason is that at this time the chemical balance in your brain (your melatonin and cortisol levels are usually high in the early morning) should be more conducive to an out of body experience than at any other time of the day - especially just before going to sleep at night when it is difficult for the mind to remain awake as the body falls asleep.
We want to use and go with the body's natural flow as much as possible.
I have had numerous spontaneous out of body experiences and lucid dreams at times when I woke up around 4 or 5 in the morning and fell back asleep afterwards. It is alright if you get out of bed and do things and come back to induce to astral projection within the next 30-60 minutes.
Whatever you decide, obviously make sure to choose a time when there will be no distractions.
As can be expected, I would suggest you wear loose and comfortable clothing. Use a blanket - this helps to create a feeling of safety and if the room is cold it will help you to relax. If you decide to astral project in the early morning, you would probably already be under blankets anyway.
Whatever time of time of day you choose to experiment with astral projection, you will need to get into a very deeply relaxed state.
The main idea is to relax enough to induce a trance state and what is called sleep paralysis. Sleep paralysis happens every night when we sleep but we don't notice because our mind usually fall asleep before the body. We will go over sleep paralysis in the next step.
Your concern for now is to deeply relax the body without falling asleep. This process can take time (30-60 minutes) but if you learn to enjoy it, it can be a very pleasant and comfortable state.
This is where brainwave entrainment kicks in. They tremendously contribute to relaxing the body because it gets the brain to send signals to your entire body that you are entering a calm and concentrated state (theta state).
Otherwise, simply go over your entire body, part by part, and slowly relax. Give yourself suggestions and breathe a little more slowly than usual at various intervals during this relaxation process. Even when using brainwave entrainment you will need to do this but it will be easier and faster.
Relax yourself until your heart beat will slows down a little and your general awareness of the physical body shifts to your non-physical body.
As the deep relaxation brings you into a trance state where you will be more so aware of your non-physical or energetic body than your physical one, you will most likely still be aware of sights and sounds but do not not follow them or engage them.
As all of this goes on, your brain will gradually shift its vibrations from the usual waking 14-30 Hz beta waves to the slower 4-7 Hz theta waves. With this shift, you will become more aware of subconscious activity.
Again, this is a process tremendously facilitated by brainwave entrainments. Many people never actually make it this far. Using the binaural beats or isochronic tones to relax the body and enter the necessary altered state of consciousness makes the process a simple and easier one.
Normally, your mind would fall asleep before your physical body would. What we want to do is reverse this process so that your body enters sleep paralysis while your mind remains awake.
You will know your body is undergoing sleep paralysis because you will feel heavier and nearly unable to move. It may be somewhat disturbing at first but there is no danger in this and you will get used to it.
The function of sleep paralysis is to protect you from carrying out involuntary body movements when you sleep and dream. Just imagine if your physical body would act out the actions in your dreams. Sleep paralysis is a natural mechanism that happens every night.
So now you have relaxed and entered a subtle trance state to finally come to a point where your body falls asleep and your mind remains awake. What is needed now is a method to completely dissociate from your physical body and venture out with your astral body.
Caution : if you try to move out of your body too soon and end up moving your physical body instead or your non-physical one, you will potentially destroy your trance state and have to start all over again.
Using brainwave entrainment will assure you that your brain is indeed in theta mode and will put you in a stronger position to perform the exit method.
We will not go over the exit methods in detail here as there are endless ways to coax your astral body to separate from the physical one. Many people like to imagine a rope coming down at them from which they pull themselves out of the physical body. Others will try to roll out of the material body with their astral body. Most of these exit techniques involve the use of the will, imagination and visualization.
You can simply imagine your astral body in a different position than the one your physical body finds itself into and try to get a sense or a feeling of that it would be like to find yourself in this other position.
You may need to experiment with different visualizations in order to succeed but what matters in all cases is that you end up moving with your energetic body.
This is a step difficult to explain in words but when you will be experiencing it, it will be obvious. You will know when you are ready to try the exit method. If you are unsure, then it is because you need to spend a little bit more time in the trance state or listening to the brainwave entrainment before trying the exit method.
What happens next is up to you! For me, the separation from the physical body usually happens very quickly. It feels like I am being sucked out by a giant vacuum. For others, it's a slow separation.
It is important that you go with the flow of all that you are feeling. If you offer resistance within yourself, chances are the experience will not last very long.
Reports about what people experience during astral projection vary greatly. Your experience will in all likelihood match your beliefs and your expectations.
Some people report meaningful encounters with other beings, sometimes guides or deceased loved ones or even beings from other planets or systems of reality. Others tell of traveling unbound by time and space. Many describe having undergone some kind of teaching or education, often times in a classroom type of environment. Sometimes solutions to problems of daily life present themselves to the astral traveler. Some even describe experiencing astral sex.
There are no scripts to what exactly happens. It is as free as the dream world but the feeling is different. For myself, most of my out of body experiences seem to occur in the physical environment but my interaction with this environment is greatly altered. I am able to fly and go through walls and such things.
As you settle down with your headphones, listening to astral projection brainwave entrainment, you need not concern yourself with anything other than relaxing and focusing your mind on the idea of getting out of your body. With a little practice, as your brain and body synchronize themselves to the vibrations, you will be led into the right state of consciousness to achieve astral projection. It is also possible to incorporate any astral projection technique simultaneously with the use of brainwave entrainments.
Let's not be mistaken. Brainwave entrainment is a tool and it itsef cannot force you to experience astral projection. But they can guide you into the needed vibrational frequencies as you build your own abilities to induce astral projection at will.
When I was younger, there were different periods when my dream and out of body experiences were very alive and vivid. I remember floating out of my body and going through walls in utter amazement at the sensations I was experiencing. Sometimes I would encounter mysterious presences. I always came back from these experiences invigorated and excited about life. At some point I was more excited about going to sleep than to wake up in the morning.
The difference with my experiences from before was that they were occurring without any conscious activity on my part. Now, the exploration process is a conscious one and this truly expands the possibilities. Reality is infinite and consciousness is the only vehicle to access it all! Brainwave entraiment is the best companions I have found in this voyage.
Do you lack confidence? Then the chances are you want to do something about it, and for good reason too, as self-confidence is one of those traits that affects every aspect of life. Confident people are more highly valued in the workplace, as friends and as romantic partners. And just as importantly, being confident will help you feel generally happier and better about yourself – confident people have higher self-esteem, and are less plagued by self-doubt and other anxieties.
While some lucky people seem to be naturally full of confidence, most of us have to work at it. It’s more common to feel confident about those areas of your life where you excel, and few people feel good about every aspect of themselves. But with a little practice, you can learn to boost your confidence in all areas.
However, it’s important not to confuse confidence with arrogance – arrogant people are usually among the most insecure, and are overcompensating. Arrogance is alienating to others, and doesn’t really help you feel happy with yourself, so don’t make the mistake of trying to act cocky to cover up your lack of confidence.
What you want is to develop genuine confidence, not put on an act. This can be achieved through changing your self-image and the messages you give to yourself on a daily basis – you basically need to reprogram your mind. And among the most effective ways to do this are meditation and visualization.
Meditation involves setting some time aside each day to go within, and quiet the mind. There are many different ways to meditate, such as focusing on your breath, or a candle flame, or a mantra. With practice all methods lead to a similar result – the chatter of your conscious mind will reduce (or stop completely), and you’ll more easily be able to access your subconscious, with its store of wisdom and insights.
This greater access to the subconscious that meditation provides has another advantage too – it allows you to implant new beliefs and ways of thinking. This is the perfect opportunity to start reprogramming your mind with a new self-image: that of a confident person. And one of the best ways to do this is with creative visualization.
Visualization basically involves seeing yourself as you want to be. You can create ‘mental movies’, picturing yourself acting confidently and assertively, and feeling good in social situations. People visualize in different ways – you might see visual images, or hear yourself speaking in a certain way, or feel certain emotions or physical sensations. Ideally it’s best to incorporate as many of these modalities as you can, to make your imagined scene as vivid and real as possible.
While you can visualize at any time, combining visualization with meditation is a good idea, since your mind will be more receptive to your visualization when it’s in a deeply relaxed state. With regular (preferably daily) practice of your ‘confidence meditation/visualization’, you’ll find that your beliefs about yourself begin to change: negative self-talk diminishes and you start to feel and act more confidently in your daily life. Eventually you realize that you’ve become a confident person!
This method is extremely effective, not only for developing more confidence, but for creating just about any other kind of life change you desire. There’s a problem however: many people simply can’t meditate easily. Meaning that they can’t quiet their mind enough to really relax – instead, their conscious minds keep intruding, jumping around from thought to thought. This isn’t surprising really, since in western culture we’re never taught about the importance of controlling the mind, and as a result most of us have very undisciplined thoughts.
I know how frustrating this can be from personal experience, but have happily found a solution, in the form of brainwave entrainment (also known as brainwave synchronization).
Simply put, brainwave synchronization involves exposing the brain to rhythmic stimuli of certain frequencies, such as sound or light pulses. Thanks to a natural phenomenon known as the ‘frequency following response’, the brain will then tend to match or ‘entrain’ to these frequencies. Different mental states are associated with specific frequencies – for example, the theta brainwave band (4 – 8 Hz) is linked with deep meditation. Brain wave entrainment is an efficient way to access the state of consciousness you desire, without having to spend years learning to master challenging mind control techniques.
There are three main sound-based brainwave entrainment technologies: binaural beats, monaural beats and isochronic tones. These work differently, but all can effectively entrain your brainwaves to the desired frequency range. However, many people find that isochronic tones are somewhat more effective than the other methods, as they tend to produce more rapid synchronization, and unlike binaurals, they don’t require the use of headphones. [Learn more about brainwave entrainment, binaural beats, monaural beats and isochronic tones]
If you have trouble with maintaining a meditative state and visualising effectively, brainwave synchronisation may be of great help. By using a recording with the appropriate frequencies (taking you into the alpha and theta brainwave ranges), it becomes easier to quiet the mind and enter the kind of deeply relaxed mindset that is necessary for effective reprogramming.
To use the power of brainwave entrainment for boosting your confidence, it’s important to use a high quality recording that you enjoy listening to. I personally really like these meditation recordings, and use them often. That site does also do some recording specifically for building confidence, although I haven’t tried those out myself. All tracks are available in monaural, binaural and isochronic formats, and are also fully guaranteed. Plus they also offer free samples to download, so you can see what they’re like.
What does prosperity mean to you? While a truly prosperous person is one who is rich in all areas of their life – health, relationships, creative fulfillment etc – it’s also true that prosperity includes material wealth. And in our society, material wealth is associated with money, so that’s what we’re going to talk about here. If you want more money but it’s not coming as easily as you’d like, read on, because brainwave entrainment may be able to help.
Now ‘rich’ is another of those words that means different things to different people, but let’s just define it as having enough money to spend your time doing exactly as you please, while having the standard of living you desire, as well as plenty socked away to provide financial security for the future. In other words – you’re free, and in control of your life.
Imagine what it’s like – you don’t have to work unless you want to, and if you do, you can walk away at any time. You can buy anything that takes your fancy, knowing you can easily afford it. You can help out your friends and family if you want to, or give to charities you believe in. You can spend all your time doing what you love. And you can sleep well at night, knowing that financial worries are a thing of the past. Sounds good! Money can provide all these things for you, so why not get some more of it?
Well, maybe it’s not quite that simple. Most people want more money, and most don’t have it. Even worse, most also never manage to change their situation, and die poor, or without experiencing all the things they’d have liked to, but couldn’t afford.
Why does this happen, and how can you stop it happening to you?
While there are people who simply don’t have any of the fundamental skills that are usually necessary to make money (such as basic literacy, numeracy and social skills), most people do have these, but still fail to get rich. Why? Because they have mental blocks that cause them to behave in ways that are counterproductive to making money.
These blocks often take the form of limiting beliefs, which may or may not be conscious. Do you have negative stereotypes of wealthy people, or believe that making money requires abilities that you don’t have? Or maybe you’ve been brought up to believe that money is evil, and that poverty is somehow virtuous. If so, you’re not alone; this culture has a weird schizophrenic attitude towards wealth, putting the rich and their money on a pedestal on the one hand, while demonizing them at the same time. It’s not surprising if many of us grow up wanting money, but not allowing ourselves to have enough.
But you don’t have to carry on the screwy attitudes of the past – by changing the way you think, you can change your self-sabotaging behaviors, and more money will flow into your life as a result.
In order to become prosperous, you must believe that it’s OK to be so, that *you* can be so, and that you’re willing to take the necessary actions to become so. This basically involves reprogramming your mind, and there are various tools you can use to do this, such as self-hypnosis, affirmation, visualization etc. You need to picture yourself with the money you desire, and get into the feeling place of living that life. Do this consistently enough and your self-image will change to that of a wealthy person, your actions will change accordingly, and wealth will begin to flow more easily to you as a result. Sounds easy, right?
Well it can be, but many people find it hard to keep focused on what they want when they’ve got a whole lifetime of limiting beliefs working against them, not to mention the ‘real life’ circumstances that those beliefs have created. It’s not always easy to ‘think rich’ when you’ve got a stack of unpaid bills on the table! This is where isochronic tones and other brainwave entrainment methods can help, by getting you into the right frame of mind to effectively access your subconscious and implant new, empowering beliefs that will make it easy for you to create the wealth you want.
Simply put, brainwave entrainment involves exposing the brain to stimuli, such as sound or light pulses, of certain frequencies. The brain will then naturally match or ‘entrain’ to these frequencies. Different states of consciousness are associated with specific frequencies – for example, the theta brainwave band (4 – 8 Hz) is linked with deep meditative trance states, and the beta range (< 13 Hz) is found in normal waking consciousness when the mind is alert. Brainwave synchronization provides an efficient way to get your brain into a state where brainwaves of the desired frequency range dominate, without having to spend years learning to master challenging mind control techniques.
Audio-based brainwave entrainment uses three main technologies: binaural beats, monaural beats and isochronic tones. These work in slightly different ways, but all are effective, and involve listening to a recording with sounds of certain frequencies (depending on the brain state you want to achieve). However many people find that isochronic tones have the edge over the other methods, as they tend to produce more rapid synchronization, and unlike binaurals, they don’t require the use of headphones. It is easier to develop a prosperity mindset when you have access to the kinds of positive, empowering thoughts and emotions that are in line with wealth, action-taking and self-belief. These are associated with the deep theta brainwave range, which is also the state of mind in which dreams happen. With the help of a specially designed brainwave entrainment recording, you can learn to access the theta state while you’re still awake.
In this state limiting beliefs are more easily bypassed, so it can be easier to reprogram your mind in order to begin to see yourself as a prosperous person who easily takes the necessary actions for creating wealth. Strong positive emotions are accessed more easily, as are inspirational thoughts and insights. The whole process becomes more effortless, and you’ll find yourself thinking and behaving more positively and optimistically in your daily life. Self-sabotage is a thing of the past as you joyously take the actions needed for success. And as a result – money flows!
What will you do with all the extra wealth you allow in as a result of using brainwave entrainment?
To get to that point, remember that it’s important to use a high quality recording that you like working with. I personally like to use this deep meditation from The Meditation Club. This site does also do a variety of ‘prosperity’ meditations, which I haven’t tried myself. But all are are fully guaranteed, and are also available in binaural, monaural and isochronic formats (monaurals and isochronics are still quite hard to find elsewhere). You can also download some free samples to see which type you prefer.
Isn’t it incredibly annoying when you can’t find your keys, or remember important passwords or what you need from the shops? Memory problems are very common, and the results can range from mild annoyance to severe inconvenience. However, there are steps you take to improve your memory – and without taking potentially harmful and addictive ‘memory drugs’ either!
The workings of both short term and long term memory have been studied extensively, and while people forget things for different reasons, there are some common issues that can cause problems with recall. One is your state of mind – both while you are absorbing knowledge in the first place, and while you’re attempting to retrieve it later. If your focus is scattered, or your attention span low, you may not absorb information effectively. Stress and mental blocks can also prevent its retrieval later on.
There are many systems and tactics out there that claim to help you improve your memory, from the proverbial knotted handkerchief to more high-tech solutions. These include:
One more sophisticated technique is to make use of brainwave entrainment recordings such as isochronic tones to more easily access the subconscious mind – and the memories it holds. Brainwave entrainment refers to the tendency of the brain to synchronize with an external rhythmic stimulus whose frequency falls within the brain’s natural range. For example, the brain produces alpha waves (in the 8 – 12 Hz range) when you’re in a state of relaxation, daydreaming or light meditation. By listening to a brainwave synchronization recording that’s designed to induce alpha waves in the brain, you can access these states more easily, at will. Brainwave entrainment can provide a kind of short cut to all kinds of different physical and mental states that it might otherwise be difficult to achieve and maintain without years of mind control practice.
You may be able to access hidden memories more effective from the theta brainwave state (4 – 8 Hz). This is a state of relatively deep trance, and provides easier access to the subconscious and its largely untapped resources. In bypassing the conscious mind, mental blocks are no longer a problem, and the information that you thought you’d forgotten is more readily available.
Brainwave entrainment (especially binaural beats) is very popular these days, and there are plenty of recordings to choose from. Make sure you get a quality recording that you enjoy – I personally really like the meditation tracks from this site (theta meditation being best for accessing the subconscious). They do also do some recordings specifically for memory issues, but I haven’t yet tried those myself. However, all the recordings are fully guaranteed for eight weeks, and there are free samples available to see if you like them.
They also have a choice of binaural beats, monaural beats and isochronic tones – these all work slightly differently, but can all be very effective (read more about the differences between binaural, monaural and isochronic recordings). If you’re not sure which to choose, note that many people find isochronic tones to be the most effective of the three, due to the way their clearly defined pulses help to entrain the brain more efficiently.
Do you have big dreams for your life? Many people will answer that question with a resounding ‘Yes!’ If so, are you taking consistent action to bring them into reality? Perhaps that ‘yes’ isn’t quite so strong this time? The fact is, it’s very easy to feel motivated when you’re dreaming your dreams and starting a new project, but it’s much less easy to maintain your motivation as the weeks and months roll by. Why is this?
There are various reasons why people lose their motivation to succeed. Here are some of the most common:
So, you’ve identified some of the reasons why you can’t stay motivated enough to follow through on your dreams. What are you going to do about it? For one thing, having identified the specific factors that are working against you, you can ‘do the opposite’. For example, if your physical energy is low because you eat junk food, you can follow a healthier diet of natural, unprocessed foods. If you’ve identified a specific limiting belief that’s holding you back, you can use affirmations, self-hypnosis or other mind programming techniques to implant its opposite.
In addition, there’s no shortage of motivational tips and advice out there. Many people recommend writing out your goals, using deadlines, visualizing your success regularly or enlisting the help of supportive others, such as mentors.
These action-oriented techniques can all work. But what if you try them and you still have trouble keeping your inspiration up? Firstly, you should be totally honest with yourself – do you really want this thing you’re trying to achieve? Is it genuinely in line with your passions in life, or are you trying to please someone else, such as your parents, a boss, or society in general? If you’ve leaned your ladder against the wrong wall, your lack of motivation could be your subconscious mind’s way of protecting you from going down a route that you don’t really want to take.
However, if your goal is something you genuinely want for yourself, but you still find yourself resisting it, then brainwave entrainment might be able to help you override those mental blocks and keep your motivation levels up.
Brainwave entrainment refers to the tendency of the brain to synchronize with (or entrain to) an external stimulus that is oscillating within the brain’s natural frequency range. Examples of such stimuli include sound (such as isochronic tones) and light. For example, a person in a state of light meditation will naturally produce brainwaves in the alpha frequency band (8 – 12 Hz). By listening to a brainwave stimulation recording that incorporates sounds in this range, a person can achieve this state of consciousness more easily, without the need to practice meditating for years first. Similarly, you can entrain your brain to beta (> 13Hz), theta (4 – 8Hz) and delta (< 4Hz) rhythms, and experience the mental and physical states that are associated with these frequencies.
So, how can this help when it comes to motivation? Well, the main problem with losing motivation is that your initial positive, inspired, excited outlook fades, and negativity takes over, right? You start feeling like you can’t be bothered, you’re too tired, you won’t succeed anyway, what’s the point, blah blah blah… So you need to get back to your positive mindset, and take steps to ramp it up. Now visualizing, goal setting etc can help with this, but the gains can be short lived, and it can feel like a lot of effort, because you’re having to talk yourself ‘up the scale’ to a better feeling state each time.
With brainwave entrainment on the other hand, you can listen to a recording that’s designed to induce your brain to synchronize with frequencies that are associated with the ability to easily program your mind with thoughts of what you want – so it becomes easier to stay positive and stay on track, because your own subconscious mind is no longer working against you. The theta frequencies can help with this, and by practicing with the brainwave entrainment meditation recordings from The Meditation Store – I use these myself, and really like them. This site also has a set of recordings especially for boosting motivation, but I can’t say much about those since I haven’t yet tried them out myself.
Sound-based brainwave synchronisation recordings general use binaural beats, monaural beats or isochronic tones. These work differently (read more about the differences between binaural, monaural and isochronic sounds), but all have been found to be effective. Many people prefer isochronics, because they feature clearly defined sound pulses that are easier for the brain to synchronise to. On the other hand, some find the sound of the beats can be irritating at lower frequencies (such as the delta and low theta ranges), and prefer to use binaural beats when working with these frequencies. The best path is to try each for yourself, but if you only use one type of recording, I’d probably recommend binaurals for work in this frequency range.
Whichever you go for, remember that you should only use recordings from a reputable source who knows the correct frequencies to use, or they won’t be effective.
Are you one of the many people who find themselves feeling stressed out by the demands of modern life? Or perhaps you have a yearning to explore the true potential of your mind – which extends way beyond what most of us have been programmed to believe. Either way, meditation is the answer.
When you learn to meditate, you have an effective stress-relief method on tap – with none of the side effects of anxiety-relieving drugs, or the costs of a weekend at the spa. You also have access to the power of the subconscious mind, which holds the key to the development of ‘super human’ powers, such as psychic abilities, out of body experiences and much more. Meditation is also worth doing as an end in itself – it’s a rare chance to ‘just be’, and enjoy the peace of some time with nowhere to go and nothing to achieve.
So, how do you learn to meditate? There’s no one answer to this, as there are countless meditation methods. Basically, it involves focusing and/or quieting your mind. Both routes have the same end result – the endless chatter of the everyday ‘monkey mind’ slows or stops and a sense of peace and calm prevails. You’re also open to new insights, and can more easily access your latent abilities (including psychic abilities).
Whatever method you choose, you should ensure that you’re in a comfortable location (lying on your bed is fine, although many people prefer to sit up to reduce the likelihood of falling asleep), and will not be disturbed. You should aim to practice every day (or most days at least) – start with a short period of time, and build up to about 20-30 minutes or more.
The problem with the methods listed above, and with most other meditation techniques, is that they’re not as easy as they sound. As a culture, we’re not taught to control our minds, and as a result most people have highly undisciplined psyches. They typically don’t become aware of this until they try to impose some order, via meditation practice. I know firsthand how frustrating it feels to try to focus and quiet the mind, and to completely fail to do so!
Now, with regular practice, the task may become easier – but this can take months or years, and even then there’s no guarantee of success. If you don’t want to wait that long, brainwave entrainment meditation recordings can help. They can also be of value to more experienced meditators who wish to deepen their practice, or simply try a new technique.
The brain produces brainwaves as a result of the electrical activity of the brain cells. These brainwaves fall into a number of frequency bands, depending on your state of consciousness. For example, delta brainwaves are very slow (< 4 Hz), and are normally produced during deep sleep. Theta brainwaves (4-8 Hz) are linked with deep trance meditation, whereas alpha waves (8 – 12 Hz) are produced during states of light relaxation and daydreaming. Beta brain waves (> 13 Hz) are associated with normal waking consciousness.
Meditators typically produce brainwaves in the alpha band or below, depending on the depth of their focus and relaxation. As many have found, it can be very difficult to maintain this level of consciousness – for most people, the brain is more used to being in the active beta state. However, the brain does have a natural tendency to synchronize with (or entrain to) certain stimuli – such as sound recordings – that feature frequencies that are close to its own frequency range. So if you listen to a brainwave entrainment recording that is designed to trigger brainwaves in the theta range (for example), you should be able to enter that state much more easily than you would on your own, thanks to the brain’s tendency to entrain to the sounds it is hearing.
Meditation is associated mostly with the alpha and theta frequency bands, although experienced meditators can also go into very deep delta states while awake. As a beginner, you’ll master the alpha range first, before progressing into deeper states. Theta meditation in particular can be a lot of fun when you learn to maintain it, as this range is associated with the experience of astral projection and other altered states. For general use, an effective brainwave entrainment recording for meditation will include both frequency ranges, with a smooth progression between the two. Alternatively, you might prefer a recording that focuses only on alpha or only on theta, depending on the precise experience you want to have.
Brainwave synchronization recordings fall into three categories: binaural beats, monaural beats and isochronic tones. These work slightly differently (read more about the differences between binaurals, monaurals and isochronics), but all work well. However, the general consensus is that isochronic tones are the most effective of the three, because unlike the other methods they feature very clearly defined and separated pulses of sound that make it easier for the brain to entrain to the rhythm. However, some find the sound to be slightly jarring in the delta region, so if you’re going to experiment with very deep meditation, you might prefer to use binaural beats. The best course of action is really to experiment and see which type you prefer.
It’s important to be sure that you’re using only top quality meditation brainwave entrainment recordings however, as there’s a lot of poorly produced stuff on the internet that isn’t very helpful. I recommend visiting The Meditation Club, which has a nice selection of high quality meditation tracks, in binaural, monaural and isochronic tone formats. I use the alpha and theta isochronics (without music) a lot myself, and really like them. They’re fully guaranteed for eight weeks from the date of purchase, and you can download some samples for free.
Hypnosis is a well-known phenomenon, whereby a person enters a highly focused state of suggestibility after a hypnotic induction process. Although traditionally carried out by a hypnotist or hypnotherapist, self-hypnosis is very popular these days, and can be an extremely effective way of accessing the subconscious mind to change limiting beliefs, retrieve buried memories, and make positive changes in your mental and even physical state (hypnosis has been proven to be successful for breast enlargement, for example).
The induction phase is extremely important, as this is when you slow your mind and access the mental state that enables you to communicate with your subconscious. There are various ways of approaching self-hypnotic induction. These generally involve various relaxation procedures, such as tensing and relaxing all the muscles in the body. You might also visualize accessing a ‘deeper’ state by counting backwards, or imagining being in a descending elevator, watching the floors roll past.
After induction, you then expose yourself to whatever hypnotic suggestions you want to work with. Using a recording is perhaps the most effective way of doing this, and self-hypnosis recordings are extremely popular, and used for purposes as diverse as losing weight, overcoming addictions and phobias, improving memory and healing various illnesses.
Despite the proven effectiveness of self-hypnosis however, many people don’t gain the results they’re looking for. There are two prime reasons for this: their hypnotic induction isn’t effective, so they don’t enter the necessary state of focused relaxation, or they fail to maintain that suggestible state following the induction. It isn’t really surprising that so may people have these issues.
As a society, we’re never taught how to control our thoughts or quiet our minds. Only the minority of people who learn meditation and other mind control techniques really have the necessary skills to achieve and maintain a successful self-hypnotic state every time. For most of us it can be more hit and miss, and understandably many people give up in frustration, or believe that self-hypnosis just doesn’t work for them.
Fortunately help is available in the form of brainwave entrainment technology, which makes the whole hypnosis process much easier and more consistent, even for those who normally have trouble relaxing deeply and focusing on the suggestions. During a successful hypnotic trance, the brain produces brainwaves in the alpha frequency band (8 – 12 Hz). You need to remain in this state in order for your session to be effective.
Brainwave synchronization works because of the brain’s natural tendency to align with (or entrain to) rhythms of certain frequencies, such as pulsing sounds or flashing lights. By listening to a sound recording that incorporates frequencies in the alpha range, your brain will start to produce waves of similar frequencies, and you can remain in this state of consciousness much more easily than you could without the help of the recording. This is a great boon for those who don’t know how to meditate effectively, or who have trouble focusing or quieting the mind – with (e.g.) binaural beats, hypnosis becomes a lot more accessible and effective.
There are three types of brainwave entrainment audio tools commonly available – binaural beats, monaural beats and isochronic tones, all of which give great results. Binaurals are the most well known, and work by introducing sounds of two frequencies via headphones – one to each ear. After processing the sounds, the brain produces a pulse (or beat) with a frequency that is equal to the difference between the pitches of the two sounds it is hearing.
Monaural beats are similar, except the two tones are combined before reaching the brain, and the resulting pulses are stronger and more clearly defined. Isochronics, on the other hand, only feature a single sound, the frequency of which depends on the state of consciousness you’re aiming for. Neither require the use of headphones, although isochronic tones are the best choice for most people, since they’ve been found to work more effectively. They can be difficult to locate though, as they’re not as widely used as binaural beats yet.
So if you want to empower yourself and experience all the advantages that self-hypnosis can provide, it’s worth giving brainwave entrainment a try. It’s important however to only use top quality recordings from a reputable source – unfortunately there’s much on the web, which is pretty useless, at best. I recommend visiting The Meditation Club, which offers a selection of hypnosis binaurals, isochronics and monaurals, all of which are designed to efficiently take your brain into the necessary state. They’re fully guaranteed, and you can also download samples to try for free.
The ability to think creatively is a huge asset in any walk of life. While creativity is commonly linked with the arts, it’s just as vital for scientists, business people and anybody who wants to maximize their potential and get the most from life.
Creative thought provides insights and solutions to problems in a non-linear manner. Rather than sitting down and thinking through an issue in a sequence of logical steps, the answer more often comes ‘out of nowhere’, in a flash of inspiration. Creative thought feels easy, effortless and flowing – unlike the often difficult process of trying to hammer things out with our rational minds. Creative insights of this type are important because they provide answers that we might never have been able to arrive at otherwise. Just witness the many scientific breakthroughs and achievements in other fields that were the result of creative inspiration.
If creative thoughts feel like they come from ‘elsewhere’, it may be because they’re connected with the subconscious mind, which is possibly tapping into a wider field of consciousness that exists beyond us as individuals. Unfortunately the conscious mind all too often filters out information from the subconscious, with the result that we forget many of our great insights, or they don’t reach our conscious awareness at all.
Creativity is also associated with the right side of the brain (the left side, in contrast, is associated with logical, linear thought). Ideally, we’d be able to tap into the abilities of both sides of the brain at will, as they’re equally important, and equally useful in different situations. But our social conditioning is such that in most people, the left brain dominates, and the right brain – and thus our creative abilities also – is neglected.
To think more creatively more of the time, you need to deliberately allow your right brain free reign and shut your left brain up for a while, so you can tap into the subconscious and the riches it holds. There are many ways of doing this, such as sitting down to write or paint with no agenda in mind – just putting pen/brush to paper, and letting whatever comes out flow freely.
Other people like to dance, or to hammer out rhythms on a drum, or to go for a run or a walk. What these activities have in common is that they are fairly repetitive, and allow you to enter a state of flow, where you’re not giving a lot of conscious thought to what you’re doing.
This makes it easier to create a kind of trance state, and the conscious mind quiets down, allowing previously suppressed insights and thoughts to emerge. Meditation achieves the same result, although it’s more difficult for many people, who find it hard to focus and end up getting carried away by various trains of thought.
While the above methods can be very effective, they can also be hit and miss. For those who want a more reliable method of tapping into the creative mindset, brainwave entrainment technology is ideal. Creative thought is associated with specific brainwave frequencies. By listening to audio recordings that contain these frequencies (or trigger them in the brain), the brain automatically comes into sync with them, with minimal effort on your part.
There are three common types of audio brainwave entrainment recordings: binaural beats, monaural beats and isochronic tones. These work slightly differently, but produce similar results. Binaural beats are the most commonly available, and are very effective. Monaural beats work well too, and don’t require the use of headphones, unlike binaurals. However, isochronic tones are the newest, and best technology – they help your brain to synchronize to the desired frequencies more quickly than the other methods, and also don’t require headphones. However, they’re not as widely available as binaural beats, although this is likely to change as time goes on.
So by using isochronic tones or binaural beats, creativity is improved dramatically. If you want to take advantage of the awesome power of brainwave entrainment to boost your creative thinking abilities, use a good quality recording, and use it regularly. I personally really like these meditation recordings for getting into a relaxed and inspired state of mind, although this site does also have a ‘creativity’ section (I haven’t used those tracks though, so can’t say much more about them). They’re fully guaranteed, and you can try out some samples for free too.
Are you tired of feeling tired, and feeling desperate to boost your energy levels? Then read on for more information about how you can feel better fast – naturally!
First of all, let’s take a look at some of the easiest ways to quickly feel more energetic:
Breathe deeply – are you a shallow breather? Many people are, without realizing it. If you only breathe from the chest, chances are you’re not getting enough oxygen, especially if you spend most of the day indoors. This can lead to lower energy levels. So make an effort to breathe fully, from your diaphragm, and preferably get some fresh air while you’re at it.
Cut out the junk food – poor diet is another very common cause of low energy levels. It’s become common to live on processed junk foods, which are chock full of sugar and additives, but lacking in nutritional value. So to feel more energetic, make an effort to include more natural whole foods in your diet, and cut out the rubbish.
Take a look at your vices – do you smoke? Drink a lot of alcohol? Drink tea and coffee several times a day? All of these factors can sap your energy too, especially caffeine, which is perhaps especially damaging since the ‘buzz’ it creates gives the false impression that it actually creates more energy. In fact, the reverse is true – the more coffee you drink, the worse you’ll feel over the long run. So stop smoking, drink moderately if you can’t/won’t stop altogether, and find a healthier substitute for all that coffee (such as water or herbal tea).
Exercise – the couch potato’s life is a sluggish one, and it can be a vicious cycle, since the longer you’re inactive, the more lethargic you tend to feel. Make an effort to take some exercise however, and your energy levels will soar. Anything that gets your heart rate up will help, but for maximum benefits do some weight training too.
Get enough sleep – most people need around 8 hours sleep a day to feel truly rested and refreshed, and some need even more. Unfortunately many don’t get the sleep they need, thanks to the busy work schedules and other commitments that so many of us have. But sleep is a must if you want to feel fully energized during the day.
Put the above suggestions into practice, and you’ll almost certainly feel better. However, it’s possible to live healthily and still not feel like your energy levels are up to par. And sometimes it can be difficult to sleep well when there are external factors getting in the way. Most people know the frustration of desperately wanting to take a nap during the day, but being unable to due to the pressures of work or family.
Fortunately, brainwave entrainment may be able to help, by providing an easy and efficient way to access your body’s natural restorative mechanisms while you’re awake, even if you’re not sleeping as well as you’d like.
In case you’re not already familiar with it, brain wave entrainment involves exposing the brain to stimuli of particular frequencies, such as pulses of sound or light. The brain has a natural tendency to match or ‘entrain’ to these frequencies.
What’s the use of this? Well, different states of consciousness are associated with specific frequency ranges – for example, the theta brainwave band (4 – 8 Hz) is linked with deep trance states, whereas the alpha range (8 – 12 Hz) predominates during light relaxation. Brainwave synchronization (another term for brainwave entrainment) provides an efficient way to get your brain producing brainwaves of the desired frequency range. This way you can access different states of consciousness relatively easily, without having to spend years learning challenging mind control techniques.
Sound recordings are the easiest and most economical brain entrainment method. There are three main types: binaural beats, monaural beats and isochronic tones. These work in slightly different ways, but all are effective, and involve listening to a recording which includes sounds of certain frequencies (determined by the state you want to achieve). [Learn more about brainwave entrainment, binaural beats, monaural beats and isochronic tones]
So, how can brainwave entrainment help you to boost your energy? When you go to sleep, you cycle between REM (dreaming) sleep and deep (non-dreaming) sleep. It is in the deep sleep phase that the body restores itself and replenishes its energy in preparation for the next day’s activities.
Deep sleep is associated with the production of delta brainwaves (< 4Hz). By using a brainwave entrainment recording that stimulates the production of delta waves while in the waking state, you can gain some of the benefits of deep sleep – without having to actually go to sleep! In practice, people have found that after listening to a properly constructed delta brainwave recording, they felt more energized afterwards. The effect is somewhat like taking a nap, except less time is required, and you don’t get that groggy feeling that often occurs when you sleep during the day.
So using brainwave synchronisation can help you to feel more energetic – great news for anyone who is temporarily having trouble sleeping as much as they need, or anyone who feels the need of a boost for any reason. And unlike caffeine pills and all the other ‘energy boosting’ quick fixes you can get, brainwave entrainment is totally natural! [Those who are struggling with chronic insomnia might want to read more about brainwave entrainment for sleep problems]
Should you choose binaural, monaural or isochronic recordings? As mentioned, all three of these methods are effective. Many people prefer isochronic tones, since they seem to entrain the brain somewhat more quickly and easily than the other methods. However, others have found that the rather ‘jagged’ sound of the isochronic pulses can be distracting or annoying at very low frequencies, such as those used in delta brainwave entrainment. Monaural beats can also have the same problem. As a result, many prefer to use binaural beats for delta work.
My advice is to try all three, and see which you prefer personally. But if you only use one method, binaurals might be the best choice for this particular purpose.
Whichever method you choose, it’s vital to use only high quality recordings that are designed for the purpose. I recommend visiting The Meditation Club, which offers a selection of brainwave synchronisation recordings that are formulated to raise your energy by taking you into the delta state. This is a very popular site, and their products are fully guaranteed – and you can even download some samples for free.
Are you an addict? Most people would answer ‘no’ to that question, but bear in mind that addiction doesn’t only refer to those who find themselves rolling in the gutter after yet another alcoholic bender, or stealing to fund their heroin addiction. These are extreme cases, but many more people are caught up in less catastrophic but still debilitating addictions, such as smoking, caffeine or overeating, or even activities like surfing the web or playing video games.
In a sense it doesn’t matter so much what the substance or activity is – if you’re engaging in a habit that you can’t control, you may be addicted. And addiction is not healthy.
Maybe you’re already aware that you have a problem, and want to change it – to kick whatever ‘habit’ you have, and replace it with healthier behavior. And you’ve probably already discovered that this isn’t necessarily an easy thing to do.
There are many reasons why people find it hard to quit their addictive behaviors. In the case of addiction to physical substances like nicotine and other drugs, the body becomes dependent on it, and eventually you have to keep getting a ‘fix’ just to feel normal and avoid withdrawal symptoms.
In the case of addiction to behaviors, like shopping or internet addiction, the causes are less clear, but there is certainly an addiction to the good feelings (or avoidance of bad feelings) that such behaviors are linked with.
In both cases, overcoming the addiction requires a strong determination to succeed. It is easy to feel that determination when you’ve just indulged yourself and are feeling that familiar wave of self-disgust – but it’s less easy to maintain that resolve after some time has passed and the ‘need’ for the addiction is rearing its ugly head again.
What you need is to get your mind fully on board, so that you can maintain your determination to quit even when cravings start to kick in. Brainwave entrainment may be able to help with this.
Briefly, brainwave entrainment involves exposing the brain to a rhythmic stimulus such as light or sound pulses. These stimuli are of a frequency that’s similar to the natural frequencies produced by the brain itself. Thanks to a natural phenomenon known as the ‘frequency following response’, the brain has a tendency to synchronize with, or ‘entrain’ to the external rhythm. Since specific brainwave frequency ranges are linked with particular states of consciousness, by using brainwave entrainment you can more easily access a variety of mental states, by changing the frequency of the stimulus.
Sound recordings are perhaps the most popular brainwave entrainment method for home use. These fall into three categories: binaural beats, monaural beats, and isochronic tones. These work slightly differently, but all help to cause the brain to entrain to the frequencies that have been specially embedded in the recording. Many people find isochronic tones to be the most effective of the three methods, as they seem to be easier for the brain to synchronise with. [Read more about how brainwave entrainment works and the differences between binaural, monaural and isochronic recordings.]
Although addiction treatment can be a complex process, and professional help should be sought if necessary, you might find that brainwave entrainment can help to complement the process. It can help by making it easier to access a state of mind in which you can strengthen your commitment to quitting. This is more easily done in a relaxed state, where you have easier access to the subconscious mind, and are less distracted by the constant chatter of the conscious mind. Brainwave entrainment can make it easier to access this kind of relaxed state, by exposing the brain to the alpha (8 – 12Hz) and theta (4 – 8 Hz) frequencies that are associated with relaxation and meditation.*
If you decide to make use of brainwave entrainment to help overcome your addiction, ensure you get a quality recording that you enjoy using. I personally like to meditate using the alpha and theta meditation recordings from The Meditation Club. They also have a special recording for addictions, although I can’t comment on this, not having used it myself. However, all tracks have a money-back guarantee, and are available in a choice of binaural, monaural and isochronic formats, plus free downloads are available so you can see which type you prefer.
