The number one thing holding you back from being able to experience an Astral Projection is Fear. Your bodies natural defense mechanisms are keeping you from experiencing other dimensional realms. 

As a part of your energy consciousness begins to separate from the physical body your brain sends out an alert that will immediately end your consciousness shifting and astral projection.

You must learn to control your fear through meditation and thought reflection. Once you have been properly trained you will no longer fear death because you have already seen the truth of your multi dimensional consciousness. It's not as hard as you may think it is.

What Is The Astral Plane 

The Astral Plane, sometimes referred to as "The Afterlife", "The Beyond" and even "The Fourth Dimension" is commonly known as the place we will transition to after we pass from this physical plane.

The astral plane really isn't the fourth dimension when you take into consideration that the physical plane makes up the first three dimensions, which includes length, width and height. Time is considered to be the fourth dimension. So we will consider the astral plane as being the "Fifth Dimension" in an otherwise multi-dimensional universe.

The Lower Astral Planes

The lower Astral Planes are considered to be, for lack of a better word the "hells" and are inhabited by people who led a relatively dark, evil existence while in the physical world. There is a generally accepted belief system in place that a person will migrate to the plane where "like attracts like".

The inhabitants of the lower plane will continue to act in accordance with their previous earthly behaviors. Murderers will continue to murder and rapists will continue to rape. Of course it's impossible to physically harm anyone here but the thought of spending eternity engaging in these ruthless acts of violence is hard to imagine.

It's also believed that eventually the inhabitants of this level can progress by learning their lessons and fully understanding the true and bitter pain they have caused and may return to the earthly plane to begin their progression back to the One Source.

The Mid Astral Planes

The mid Astral Planes are mainly comprised of decent people who have completed their most recent life in the physical plane. In accordance with the principle of "like attracts like" this plane is believed to be clean, pure and peaceful.

Those that find themselves on the mid astral plane have progressed further along on the journey back to the One Source but still are very focused on the material things in the physical plane. They will find an environment that closely matches their experiences on the physical plane.

It seems to be a common theme that the planes you arrive at resembles the nature of your existence on the physical plane because it would be too much of a shock to enter the inner astral planes or true spiritual worlds if you have not adequately progressed spiritually.

The Higher Astral Planes

The higher Astral Planes (Inner Astral Planes) are the planes where one has transcended the materialism of the physical planes. The setting here is idyllic, filled with all the splendor of a perfect harmonious day filled with love and joy. It has been described over the course of time as having a Heavenly type quality.

This is thought to be the last stop on our way to the true spirit worlds and becoming reunited with the One Source. After having experienced these inner astral planes the next time the soul departs the physical plane there will be no desire to return to the lower planes and will want to leave behind all the past desires of materialism.

Regardless of what ones beliefs are you can draw a parallel with the astral planes as a way of progression on our journey back to the One Source or if you prefer God.

How many cultures of mankind have stories regarding some kind of astral travel? Whether, it is some kind of vision quest like the Native Americans, or some sort of trance like state utilized by the likes of Nostradamus or Rasputin.

Over the millennia we as a species have been exposed to the idea of traveling beyond where our physical body can take us. Over time this concept and the perception of its application has been interpreted and reinterpreted again and again throughout our civilization.

What about the many misconceptions regarding astral travel? Many people are exposed to the concept of our energy body leaving our physical body and traveling through out time and space. We often visualize or report seeing a silver chord connecting our energy body to our physical one.

Often time's people will report an experience where they were starting to leave their body only to have an uncontrollable feeling of fear well up inside of them usually ending with them being snapped back into their body.

The questions that arise are very interesting. First of all why is it that we perceive our energy body as looking like our own? If it was really our soul or energy body why would it have to resemble our physical body? Perhaps it is the best image our brains can relate to, therefore enabling us to interpret the situation.

The other question is why do people feel they will leave there body and not be able to find there way back? This is also associated with the concept that if their chord is disconnected from their body they will die because the body can't live without the soul.

Keeping these questions in mind we must realize that man has been experiencing astral travel for millennia. The reality is that mankind's intelligence an understanding of the world around him has changed dramatically again and again over the centuries. How we once would have interpreted a phenomenon like astral travel may not be the most intelligent way to interpret and dissect it today.

There are concepts today that didn't exist one hundred years ago much less thousands. Take a probe for example. A probe will fly into space take pictures of things thousands of miles away and relay the information back to us giving us data that we could never attain by physical means.

Instead of thinking of your soul as leaving your body, let's imagine that what is really traveling is something that is of the same frequency of your soul, and is acting more like a probe. It is traveling through time and space, collecting data and within an instant, faster than the speed of light it is relaying that information back to you.

If this is the case than there would be no need to imagine a chord attaching your probe to your physical body, neither would we need to have the fear of either being trapped out of our body or never finding our way back. With this new perception we can see how the fear of death is almost completely eliminated.

Another common fear is that if something happens to your astral body than you will be harmed in the physical one. Again when a probe is destroyed out in space it simply stops sending back data, it doesn't affect the planet it is being sent from.

Let us look now at energy. Let us assume for a moment that when our energy is used to create a probe, and then that energy is projected, we are in fact receiving data so fast and so vivid that it in feels as if we have literally left our body. When the connection is cut it simply ends the transmission.

Let's picture that our body's electrical field and aura, are holding our soul within our physical body, and that the soul cannot really leave the body unless the electrical field of our body stops working due to death.

With this in mind it is much more believable that it is not our soul in its entire form that leaves the body but merely a part of it, or more specifically a frequency of it. This energy is what creates the probe that can travel across time and space. So logically we can conclude that cutting the connection between the probe and ourselves does not harm us in any way but simply ends the data being transmitted.

The most important realization of this perspective is that most of the time when people are snapped back into there body during a projection, or suddenly fall short of a successful projection it is because of fear. Again, fear of not finding there way back to their body, fear of being harmed physically because of their soul being harmed, or fear that the body cannot live without the soul.

As the old saying says "Fear is the mind killer". With the concept that astral projection is simply an energy probe scanning the depths of time and space, and not our soul leaving our body, we can see how fear is what's really limiting ourselves from true Astral Travel.

Travel The Planes Of Existence

Achieving Astral Projection overnight is as easy as going to bed. There are a few ingredients and three easy techniques you need to cook this up. Needless to mention, if you are an intermediate to expert level in the art of astral projection you might already know these ingredients. However, the hope of jotting this down is to provide a very simple recipe to allow anyone to achieve success literally overnight.

First Ingredient: Everything requires an exchange of Energy

Automobiles need fuel to move, plants need water and sun to grow, even the human body needs energy, in this case food, to function efficiently. That being said, projecting astral projection also requires an exchange of energy, or fuel. The natural question is: What is this fuel and where does it come from? Firstly, for clarity's sake let's dichotomize this fuel into organic fuel and prana (life force).

The aforementioned fuel is plainly and simply just food. The body needs to be well nourished and healthy to be apt to allocate its precious resources to astral endeavors. If you are weak you won't be able to study, exercise, heal, or operate efficiently, it is no different when it comes to astral projection.

That being said, it is possible to overwork or put enough stress on the body to achieve astral projection but this is for obvious reasons counterproductive. A healthy diet works best.

Plenty of water and a supplement of B vitamins and magnetite will do wonders. Lemon juice is also an important and accessible part of this equation. It is very important to test, test, and test again. What diet works best for you? What feeding time works best for you?

Attempting to project too soon after dinner will reduce your chances of a projection because of the stress on your digestive system. Substances such as caffeine and alcohol will also act against you. Avoid them during your projections.

The other and more important kind of fuel is prana. This, in a nutshell is an unseen energy that is all around us and permeates everything. This is the energy that ties and binds our universe together. Think of prana as the "Force" from the film Star Wars. Much like organic fuel allows your physical body to operate, prana is what will fuel your "astral probe" and allow "projection".

Breathing is by far the easiest and most accessible way of obtaining prana. What's the trick? In order to absorb prana it must be wanted. Turn your lungs, and your body into a loving home for this prana, invite it in and it will come. There are more advance ways of absorbing prana. Specialized meditation techniques, I recommend a specialized chakra meditation that will yield more than enough prana for projections, amongst other benefits.

Second Ingredient: Knowledge is Power

The biggest factor ruining aspiring astral projectors all over the planet is fear. And knowledge is the weapon of choice against this treacherous enemy. There are countless articles, books and tapes on the subject. Saturate yourself with the subject. Be logical and don't believe everything you read.

There is a great debt of gratitude due to all the trail blazers that have put astral projection in the map, but remember these are regular people trying to explain and talk about an unusual subject. Thus, be wary of misinterpretations.

One pearl of knowledge that must be shared and will strike down fear of astral projection is that: You are not out of your body. Yes, you never leave your body while you are projecting. Think about these letters that you are reading. You are experiencing with your sight.

These letters are outside your body, yet you are able to perceive and experience them while you remain inside inside your body. It is of great importance to grasp this. It will obliterate ignorant fears commonly associated with astral projection, such as, fear of death, fear of possessions and fear of getting lost outside of your body.

Third Ingredient: Practice makes perfect

Who likes to hear this sentence? Not nearly as many as those that like to say it. But, as painful as it sounds, it holds true. Any skill worth having requires you to put in a decent amount of time and effort.

Three Simple Techniques To Astral Project

These here are my 3 favorite techniques for easy astral projections.

1.

The movement technique: 

After a long day of white water rafting I proceeded to lay down in my bed and rest. Interestingly, laying there in a relaxed state, I couldn't help but notice that the movement of the raft moving down the river had stayed with me. I went with it for a while and as soon as my brain was convinced of the reality of this movement it was tricked into achieving it. Before I knew it my astral probe was inches away from my bedroom wall as I lay in bed. After discovering this purely by accident I experimented with other variations of movement, such as, jogging, swimming and even driving a car with great success.

The "feels like technique":

This is a very powerful technique, and for the purpose of astral projection you might want to think of it as visualization on steroids. Using this technique, is the only way I have been able to project while completely awake. In a nutshell, you will pick a room in your house; the bathroom seems to work best. Lie down and relax in your bedroom. Now as you lay there, relaxing and getting comfortable start to picture your bathroom in your mind's eye. If you are anything like me, your first attempts at visualization will be pathetic. Your job is to trick your brain into believing it is in the bathroom, the brain is no fool, and you need to imitate the sensory data the brain expects to receive to the best of your ability. Feel the colors, the brightness, and the texture of the surface. Look at the mirror, the corners of the room, the sink, you get the idea. It is all in the details.

3.

The lazy technique:

This is my favorite one because it requires the least amount of work. This technique requires you to play around with your normal sleep schedule, so it is not recommended for work or school days. Simply set your alarm clock about three hours earlier than usual. Get up and do some type of task that will require some degree of focus. Read a book, preferably on astral projection, take a walk around your block. Taking a 15 minute drive usually does it for me. Then go back to your warm, comfortable and inviting bed. That is it. I can only speculate that these actions put your brain in a very special state of mind that makes it much more prone to achieve astral projection.

Everything in the universe requires an exchange of energy. Remember that, whether you are writing an article fueled by caffeine or sending an astral probe to the Mexican Riviera powered by prana.

Knowledge will set you and your astral probes free. Educate yourself on the subject; it is the only way to dispel ignorance and fear. Be consistent with your practice, anything worth gaining requires effort. And if all this sounds like too much work, at least give "the lazy technique" a try, you might be one of the few lucky natural astral projectors.

Faster Astral Projection Using Brainwave Entrainment 

Using astral projection brainwave entrainment can make the difference in your attempts to experience astral travel. It is indeed possible to induce out of body experiences without resorting to any tools but the time and practice it requires to bring about astral projection at will can be rather daunting.

If you have tried to consciously induce out of body experiences before but have not succeeded, then using brainwave entrainment technology can give you that extra push you need. If you are able to astral project already you will find that it make the whole process much easier.

Let's take a look at what brainwave is. Then we will go through the steps necessary to induce astral projection with and without the it. Then you can decide for yourself if you are interested in trying them out.

What Is brainwave Entrainment? How Can They Induce Astral Projection? 

The human brain goes through many frequency cycles every day and night. When we are awake and active, our brain produces beta waves (14-30 Hz). When we are dreaming, in deep meditation or experiencing astral projection, the brain is generating theta frequencies (4-7 Hz).

Our experiences will have the brain enter different frequency cycles but this process can also be reversed. Frequencies can shape our experiences. More to the point, through scientific research, it has been discovered that the brain's receiving and operating frequencies can be altered by sound waves.

What if we could have the brain come into contact with the same frequencies that it would be generating during astral projection ?

Many of the most powerful brain frequencies are under 20 Hz - including the 4-7 Hz theta waves occurring during out of body experiences. Since the ear itself does not respond to frequencies below 20 Hz, Brainwave Entrainment Technology came about which uses the inner wiring of the brain to produce the frequency with perfect accuracy. There are two types of brainwave entrainment, isochronic tones and binaural beats.

Binaural Beats

Binaural Beats work by broadcasting two separate frequencies in each ear. For example, if you wanted to tune your brain to a 7 Hz frequency, you could play 300 Hz in your right ear, and 307 Hz in your left ear. The brain will compensate for the difference between the two and produce a third tone that will be exactly 7 Hz. This will result in your brain frequency being lowered and tuned to the desired 7 Hz operating stage.

With binaural beats, the process of relaxing the mind and body and entering the desired altered state of consciousness required to perform astral projection becomes dramatically easier.

Isochronic Tones

Isochronic tones are a simple tool that can help you achieve astral travelling consciously and easily. Put simply, they consist of sound waves used to stimulate the brain into generating the same frequencies that it would be producing during an out of body experience.

With the Isochronic tones the brain begins to create the desired frequencies (4-7 Hz), the process of altering the consciousness happens on its own. The listener need only be receptive and in a relaxed state. From there, projecting the consciousness out of the physical body becomes much easier.

The difference from binaural beats is that with isochronic tones you don't need any headphones. This can be both good and bad because the tones can get diluted if there is a lot of ambient sounds. 

STEP 1 : Choosing the Right Time to Astral Project 

Now let's take a look, step by step, at how astral projection is induced.

First of all, I highly recommend anyone to astral project in the early morning hours.

The reason is that at this time the chemical balance in your brain (your melatonin and cortisol levels are usually high in the early morning) should be more conducive to an out of body experience than at any other time of the day - especially just before going to sleep at night when it is difficult for the mind to remain awake as the body falls asleep.

We want to use and go with the body's natural flow as much as possible.

I have had numerous spontaneous out of body experiences and lucid dreams at times when I woke up around 4 or 5 in the morning and fell back asleep afterwards. It is alright if you get out of bed and do things and come back to induce to astral projection within the next 30-60 minutes.

Whatever you decide, obviously make sure to choose a time when there will be no distractions.

STEP 2 : Basic Preparations 

As can be expected, I would suggest you wear loose and comfortable clothing. Use a blanket - this helps to create a feeling of safety and if the room is cold it will help you to relax. If you decide to astral project in the early morning, you would probably already be under blankets anyway.

STEP 3 : Relaxing the Body 

Whatever time of time of day you choose to experiment with astral projection, you will need to get into a very deeply relaxed state.

The main idea is to relax enough to induce a trance state and what is called sleep paralysis. Sleep paralysis happens every night when we sleep but we don't notice because our mind usually fall asleep before the body. We will go over sleep paralysis in the next step.

Your concern for now is to deeply relax the body without falling asleep. This process can take time (30-60 minutes) but if you learn to enjoy it, it can be a very pleasant and comfortable state.

This is where brainwave entrainment kicks in. They tremendously contribute to relaxing the body because it gets the brain to send signals to your entire body that you are entering a calm and concentrated state (theta state).

Otherwise, simply go over your entire body, part by part, and slowly relax. Give yourself suggestions and breathe a little more slowly than usual at various intervals during this relaxation process. Even when using brainwave entrainment you will need to do this but it will be easier and faster.

Relax yourself until your heart beat will slows down a little and your general awareness of the physical body shifts to your non-physical body.

STEP 4 : Trance and Sleep Paralysis 

As the deep relaxation brings you into a trance state where you will be more so aware of your non-physical or energetic body than your physical one, you will most likely still be aware of sights and sounds but do not not follow them or engage them.

As all of this goes on, your brain will gradually shift its vibrations from the usual waking 14-30 Hz beta waves to the slower 4-7 Hz theta waves. With this shift, you will become more aware of subconscious activity.

Again, this is a process tremendously facilitated by brainwave entrainments. Many people never actually make it this far. Using the binaural beats or isochronic tones to relax the body and enter the necessary altered state of consciousness makes the process a simple and easier one.

Normally, your mind would fall asleep before your physical body would. What we want to do is reverse this process so that your body enters sleep paralysis while your mind remains awake.

You will know your body is undergoing sleep paralysis because you will feel heavier and nearly unable to move. It may be somewhat disturbing at first but there is no danger in this and you will get used to it.

The function of sleep paralysis is to protect you from carrying out involuntary body movements when you sleep and dream. Just imagine if your physical body would act out the actions in your dreams. Sleep paralysis is a natural mechanism that happens every night.

STEP 5 : The Exit Method 

So now you have relaxed and entered a subtle trance state to finally come to a point where your body falls asleep and your mind remains awake. What is needed now is a method to completely dissociate from your physical body and venture out with your astral body.

Caution : if you try to move out of your body too soon and end up moving your physical body instead or your non-physical one, you will potentially destroy your trance state and have to start all over again.

Using brainwave entrainment will assure you that your brain is indeed in theta mode and will put you in a stronger position to perform the exit method.

We will not go over the exit methods in detail here as there are endless ways to coax your astral body to separate from the physical one. Many people like to imagine a rope coming down at them from which they pull themselves out of the physical body. Others will try to roll out of the material body with their astral body. Most of these exit techniques involve the use of the will, imagination and visualization.

You can simply imagine your astral body in a different position than the one your physical body finds itself into and try to get a sense or a feeling of that it would be like to find yourself in this other position.

You may need to experiment with different visualizations in order to succeed but what matters in all cases is that you end up moving with your energetic body.

This is a step difficult to explain in words but when you will be experiencing it, it will be obvious. You will know when you are ready to try the exit method. If you are unsure, then it is because you need to spend a little bit more time in the trance state or listening to the brainwave entrainment before trying the exit method.

STEP 6 : The Astral Voyage Begins! 

What happens next is up to you! For me, the separation from the physical body usually happens very quickly. It feels like I am being sucked out by a giant vacuum. For others, it's a slow separation.

It is important that you go with the flow of all that you are feeling. If you offer resistance within yourself, chances are the experience will not last very long.

Reports about what people experience during astral projection vary greatly. Your experience will in all likelihood match your beliefs and your expectations.

Some people report meaningful encounters with other beings, sometimes guides or deceased loved ones or even beings from other planets or systems of reality. Others tell of traveling unbound by time and space. Many describe having undergone some kind of teaching or education, often times in a classroom type of environment. Sometimes solutions to problems of daily life present themselves to the astral traveler. Some even describe experiencing astral sex.

There are no scripts to what exactly happens. It is as free as the dream world but the feeling is different. For myself, most of my out of body experiences seem to occur in the physical environment but my interaction with this environment is greatly altered. I am able to fly and go through walls and such things.

With a little practice, as your brain and body synchronize themselves to the vibrations, you will be led into the right state of consciousness to achieve astral projection. Let's not be mistaken. Brainwave entrainment is a  tool and it itsef cannot force you to experience astral projection. But they can guide you into the needed vibrational frequencies as you build your own abilities to induce astral projection at will.

When I was younger, there were different periods when my dream and out of body experiences were very alive and vivid.
