How To Release Endorphins Naturally And Easily With Brainwave Entrainment

Want to be able to relieve pain and get ‘high’ at will – without using pharmaceuticals or illegal drugs? You can! Thanks to your brain’s own built-in chemical factory, you can produce substances that positively effect your body and mind even more powerfully than those you swallow in pill form – at no cost, and without any side effects or risk of addiction. Among the most important of these are endorphins.

Endorphins are opioid chemicals produced by the brain, most commonly in response to injury or stress. They are the body’s natural painkillers, and can also make you feel happy, excited and generally pretty good – in fact the name ‘endorphin’ literally means “a morphine-like substance originating from within the body”.*

Endorphin Release Methods

So, what releases endorphins? As mentioned, they’re secreted when you injure yourself, although this isn’t something that most people would want to do intentionally! Fortunately there are less traumatic ways to do it. For one, exercise releases endorphins – the well known ‘runners high’ is an example of this, although other chemicals may be involved too (and it does take fairly prolonged and strenuous exercise to achieve this release). Endorphin release has also been reported to occur when eating, during flotation tank sessions, with the use of acupuncture, and even during pregnancy.

Releasing Endorphins With Brainwave Entrainment

The above methods are all pretty natural – but the downside is that they’re not easily accessible to everyone, or aren’t healthy if overdone. However, there is another method of stimulating the release of endorphins that can be used by anyone, in the comfort of their own home, and that is with brainwave entrainment.

What Is Brainwave Entrainment?

To put it simply, this refers to the tendency of the brain to synchronise – or entrain – with the frequency of certain stimuli, such as isochronic tones, binaural beats or monaural beats. How does this work? The brain’s electrical activity produces brainwaves, which can be measured using an EEG. Different brainwave frequencies are associated with different physical and mental states. For example, a person in deep meditation will produce brainwaves in the theta frequency band (4 – 8 Hz). By listening to brainwave entrainment recordings that are designed to trigger certain states, you can manipulate the frequency of your brainwaves easily, without having to spend years learning to meditate. This means you can reach just about any state of consciousness at will.

Endorphin Release & Brainwave Synchronization

Endorphin release corresponds to specific brainwave patterns, and by using a recording that uses sounds of the appropriate frequencies to induce these patterns, you may trigger the release of endorphins at home, without having to run 10 miles or hire an acupuncturist. This is invaluable for anyone suffering from chronic pain (though of course you should see your doctor if you don’t know what’s causing it), who is trying to kick a harmful ‘feel good’ habit, like overeating, or who just wants to feel happier and more upbeat.

The Meditation Club offers Endorphin Release tracks, with a choice of binaural, monaural and isochronic recordings, all of which are fully guaranteed for eight weeks after purchase. I personally use their meditation recordings and a few other tracks, and have found this to be a good site to deal with.
